  • Richebourg 1979 - Sturdy and full. The biggest wine of Vosne-Romanée.
  • Grands Echézeaux 1979 - Fuller, richer than Echézeaux, with great character and breed.
  • Echézeaux 1979 - Full-bodied, elegant, sweet nose of vanilla and berry fruit.

Côte de Beaune

  • Aloxe-Corton, Bouchard Père et Fils - This estate is run with wisdom and great family care. Garnet red, delicious with expansive sweet fruit, round, long finish.
  • Pommard, Bouchard Père et Fils - Medium-bodied with power. Pommard is one of America's favorite red Burgundies.
  • Pommard, Laboure-Roi - Gracious and well-balanced.
  • Savigny-Lès-Beaune, Joseph Drouhin - Fruity aroma exploding with ripe cherry fruit. Excellent balance, light tannins.
  • Volnay, Cailleret "Carnot", Bouchard Père et Fils - Soave, elegant and harmonious, the red wine drinkers of Volnay have numbered kings of France and dukes of Burgundy. A premier cru, it's widely considered the finest vineyard in this appellation.

Beaujolais/Beaujolais Cru

  • Brouilly, Georges Duboeuf - Fine wine from Beaujolais; crisp, light-medium bodied with abundant fruit flavors.
  • Beaujolais, "Le Chamville", Bouchard Père et Fils - Fruity, dry red wine with a special light, spicy flavor and clean refreshing taste.
  • Fleurie, Georges Duboeuf - This cru is perhaps the best known. The wine is graceful, flowery and quite fruity.

Rhône

  • Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Château Beaucastel - Considered by many connoisseurs to be the finest estate of the Rhône Valley. Crimson red, dry, full-bodied, packed with delicious, earthy fruit and rich aftertaste.

  • Côte Rôtie, Chapoutier - From sunny slopes comes this wine of richness and contrast. High in tannin, but with ample, rich fruit and character.
  • Hermitage, "La Sizeranne", Chapoutier - Hermitage is thought to be the oldest vineyard in France. It's big, velvety and powerful wines, generous on the nose and palate, were once considered the best produced in the country.
